Fortifying Lives: 3DE Case Study
Fort Financial recently partnered with Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana as one of their inaugural business partners with the 3DE by Junior Achievement educational model that is in its second year of curriculum with Fort Wayne Community Schools.
10th grade students at North Side High School get to engage, learn, research, and innovate, offering solutions to area businesses and applying key skills to real business challenges through 3DE and their latest case study question, “How can Fort Financial Credit Union drive satisfaction among 18-25 year-old members?”
Students were presented with the question in late October and had the opportunity to talk to employees from Fort Financial in early November, where they learned about the credit union, its mission and history.
“Empowering students to grow critical skillsets that improve workforce readiness helps our community thrive and our talent pool expand,” says Jody Fosnough, Training & Development Manager at Fort Financial. “Developing students through innovative learning solutions like 3DE is directly aligned to our commitment of building strong communities and enabling workforce agility and growth in the Fort Wayne area.”
At the culminating event of the case study on November 29, senior leadership from Fort Financial had the opportunity to listen to four finalist groups present their ideas to address cultural agility and stakeholder awareness, while nearly 350 students were able to tour the credit union’s headquarters in northwest Fort Wayne and hear more about future careers at the credit union and learn more about how the credit union works.
With Fort Financial’s guiding principle of people helping people and JA’s mission to enhance work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills among students and young adults, it made perfect sense to partner and provide this unique opportunity to North Side students.
