2023 Community Involvement Corinth Style!

Authored By: Kelley LeBlanc on 1/18/2024

The Fort Financial staff at the Corinth, MS branch was delighted to participate in several local community events and fundraisers throughout 2023. The Corinth staff is always willing to come together to make our local events successful and continue supporting our community.

SPRING INTO LITERACY: This annual event is a fundraiser to help provide resources to the Corinth-Alcorn Literacy Council, which in turn provides assistance in teaching adults to read. Each Fort Financial branch staff member baked bitesize desserts and treats for this event. This jam-packed, 4-hour evening was filled with multiple sponsors, music, giveaways and hundreds of delicious goodies to taste. Hundreds of people came out to support the event and donate to this successful event. We have participated for several years and look forward to many more.

RECONNECT 4 AUTISM COLOR RUN: This event raises awareness and supports autism families. Fort Financial sponsored the event in 2023. It was a colorful, fun-filled day with other local sponsors, participants, music and loads of walking/running fun! By the end of the race everyone was full of color! We love the support this gives to families and the fun it brings to children! We look forward to participating again in the 9th annual Color Run in 2024.

TRAIL OF TREATS: The Alcorn County Parks & Rec hosts this community event annually for children all over Corinth/Alcorn County to attend. This is one of the most fun and exciting events the Corinth branch has sponsored for several years. Seeing the children dressed up and all the smiles is such a joy for our staff. We are always excited to dress up, set up our decorations and pass out treats to the 2,000+ children that walk the trail.  It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together just for pure fun and provide a safe place for kids to trick or treat.

SALVATION ARMY ANGEL TREE: This fundraiser means the most to our Corinth branch staff. We hosted a bake sale and accepted donations for the items we baked. All donations were given to the Salvation Army Angels. We were able to raise almost $1,400 in just 2 days! Those donations provided Christmas to several children that were in need. We have been doing this fundraiser for several years now, and each year we raise more and more in donations. We have a phenomenal staff in Corinth that provides the baked goods, as well as our generous members who make the donations. Without them we could not have such a successful outcome. We look forward to this every year.

2023 was filled with opportunities for us to give back to the Corinth and Alcorn County community, and our staff looks forward to continuing our community service in 2024.
